How to Apply

This product may be used to discourage deer from feeding on flowers, ornamental plants, shrubs and trees during the active growing season. Apply this product at ambient temperatures between 40° and 90° Fahrenheit. Product must be allowed to dry completely before exposure to rain. Do not use on food or feed crops. Do not apply aerially. Do not apply product through any type irrigation system or hose applicator. Do not apply directly to or where product might drift to stone, concrete or siding as staining might occur. Deer Guard® has been tested on many species of plants and is believed to be generally non-phytotoxic. It is advisable to test the product on types of plants that might be especially sensitive by treating and observing small portions of the plant before treating the entire plant.

This product is ready-to-use and should not be diluted. Shake bottle gently before using product. Apply Deer Guard® directly to the plant using the squeeze trigger of the spray bottle or after transfer to any pump-type sprayer equipped with a cone or flat fan nozzle. Adjust nozzle to obtain even coverage. Apply only to dry plants. For best results, apply to unprotected foliage in the Spring. Reapply to new growth as it is unprotected. Follow all instructions on the product container label.

* Apply deer repellent Deer Guard® before damage occurs, at temperatures between 40° and 90° F.
* In the spring, spray as new growth first appears.
* In the fall, apply after the first frost when the temperature is above freezing.
* Application of two light coats is superior than one heavy coat.
* Touch up new growth during the summer months to ensure total protection.
* The product must dry completely prior to rain or snow for proper adhesion to plants. So check the weather forecast for ideal conditions.
* Wear protective gloves and wash hands after use to avoid getting that bitter taste on your skin.
